Over the course of the week KCL Dance Soc has been helping out SHINE Mentoring in their annual celebration events, kicking off our first charity event of the year. SHINE is a KCL charity operating one-to-one mentoring programs for primary school children in London, and we were delighted to be able to share in the celebration of such a worthwhile cause. Our four volunteers led classes on jazz, hip-hop, musical theatre and swing for the schools as part of their activity day which took place at Strand campus. The children were really engaged with all of the classes and seemed to have a lot of fun trying out something new, especially if they hadn’t danced before. For both our volunteers and the children it was certainly an entertaining week celebrating the hard work of such a fantastic charity.
